When I contacted the HTL enquiring if we can arrange to delay the car drop off by a hour, fully anticipated paying extra for the delay, to my surprise once HTL understood the situation they agreed to delay drop off by a hr without any additional charges, really saved our day.Īnyways, thanks again for the convenience your company has provided us this week. After a seamless pickup, on our final day, our dive boat was delayed coming back to the hotel. One of the other rental company was frankly very rude - saying it is a taxi job to pick up/drop off car, despite that was on their website.īy comparison I am very impressed with HTL's service professionalism. I should note, the hotel I am at was on the far north of the island, despite couple other car rental company also mentioned pick up/drop off at hotel is an option, when I mentioned the location of the hotel, HTL is the only one responded positively. For $45/day, it was perfect for what we need. By 3pm the same afternoon, HTL rep has arrived at our hotel Playa Azul with our small convertible. While I was going from hotel to dive site on the boat, I was able to confirm my booking. After reaching out to the company on WhatsApp, someone got back to me and offered me about 6 different options within 30 min. We requested for a small vehicle very last minute for 3 days end of March. Had a good experience renting with HTL this week. I highly recommend HTL rentals for anyone visiting Cozumel and will use them in the future when I come back. It was exactly what you want for driving around this beautiful island.Ī bonus is that the rental company is located in town in the heart of all the restaurants and shops and lets you use their car lot for parking for free until they close around 730pm. By bare-bones I mean there was no radio, no A/C, no windows, and the tarp for a roof leaked (we kept it rolled up most of the time anyway). We rented the 2-door manual jeep and it was perfect for the island. There were no hidden fees, and I never felt like I was being scammed like other companies do. The rental was dropped off at our hotel so it made it very easy for us instead of having to get a taxi into town to pick it up. Reservation was made via WhatsApp which was also how we communicated for any questions regarding the rental. Juan was extremely helpful along with the rest of the staff at HTL. Hope this helps someone not make the mistakes that we did. If I was staying on the island and wanted a vehicle for a few days, I would have no issue using HTL. If I could have done it all over again, I would have chosen a Jeep rental place right by our port to save time and money for the 2 taxi rides. Oh well, lesson learned about siesta time in Mexico. I was hoping that they would let that slide since it was just a little below the full mark, but we were charged $15. who closes at 2pm? We were pressed for time and didn't get to top off the tank (we probably burned 2 gallons of gas). That one closed as soon as we pulled up around 2pm. We accidentally passed the gas station by the port on the way back and then put in a stop for another one along our way back to HTL. We only got to make one other quick stop for some shopping along the beach (don't recommend the little shacks on the beach) and then a quick snorkeling trip at Corona Beach Bar along Sky Reef (that was worth the stop). We went to Coconuts Bar on the east side of the island and that was wonderful. It took us about 45 minutes to get our Jeep once we were there and we did make reservations. We learned that we should have disembarked the ship as soon as possible since we had to take a taxi to HTL since it's in the old town part of Cozumel. We had very limited time since our cruise ship was in port for a shorter than normal time. It was in good shape except the windows would not roll down. We rented a 2 door hardtop with a/c, radio, and automatic transmission.
